A quartet that’s named after a Slovenian World War II partisan, Štefan Kovač Marko banda are one of the cool bands signed to the ever-fertile God Bless This Mess label from the far northeast corner of the country. They play an interesting brand of crisp and choppy instrumental rock which often flirts with post-rock, jazz, funk, sludge and a couple of other genres. Seeing them live makes a very dynamic and entertaining experience, just like listening to one of their cleverly titled records.
