Again in 2011, during the first week of September, the Serbian capital is meant to shine: seven days of light exhibitions, light&sound installations, workshops, lectures, seminars as well as an exciting music line-up.

In its forth edition so far, Belgrade of Light festival offers fresh, unsuspected approaches considering urban and social aspects in the use of light. Set in various indoor and outdoor locations, the festival continues to promote discussions on the city’s lighting identity, alongside future cultivation of cultural, architectural, urban and social values of Belgrade, suggesting a more subtle approach to lighting, as well as to the development and promotion of quality design, especially sustainable development.

In addition to the existing thematic features Shimmering, Glow from the Dark, Light-Up Guerilla and Facing the Bright Future, this year’s edition offers a special program Lighting in Film.

Belgrade of Light opens on 1 September, in the garden of Kneginje Ljubice, Belgrade (SRB)
