Alva Noto a.k.a Carsten Nicolai, one of the most important audio-visual artists today, joins Blixa Bargeld, the frontman of the legendary German experimental-industrial band Einsturzende Neubauten for a performance at Belgrade’s Resonate media festival
Nicolai and Bargeld had been contemplating a collaboration since 2007, but their joint effort under the alias ANBB didn’t see the light of day until three years later, when the full-length album Mimikry was released for Nicolai’s groundbreaking label Raster Noton.
Nicolai’s glitched, robotic beats cloaked in abrasive sound textures with frequencies lingering on the borders of the human aural spectrum create a perfect match for Bargeld’s doom-like voice and the dark, subliminal poetics behind it, making this collaboration a dream come true for the experimental electronic music aficionados. This is not to be missed!
