Piece of Shh

Goran Simonoski a.k.a Piece of Shh is one of the more experienced Belgrade producers, coming up over the last 10 years with the Belgradeyard Sound System collective, one of the first Serbian acts to achieve international recognition, during the early 2000s.

After experimenting in jazz-influenced electronica, Shh soon embarked on a more deeper exploration of syncopated rhythms before arriving comfortably at his signature minimal-meets-dubstep sound that’s both familiar and new.

Apart from his dub-infused solo work, he has released more minimal sounding tracks as one part of duo Cheap and Deep. His other releases include labels such as Earsugar (Berlin), Cosmic Sounds (London), rx-tx (Ljubljana) and Public Records (San Francisco).

His first 12″ Diablo Riddim came out on Svetlana Industries, featuring remixes by London-based Hektagon (Audio Freaks, Z-audio) and Zomby, one of the most wanted British producers from the Hyperdub crew.

Piece of Shh is known for his explosive live sets that often hit a different note on the dancefloor. He is an expert on Ableton Live software for which he occasionally delivers trainings and workshops. Currently, he’s engaged in a brand new project with Belgrade’s music prodigy Jan Nemecek, as Brickwall Brigade.
