Apparently armed just with an old PC some ten years a go, Strahil Velchev a.k.a Kink soon got his hands on a Vermona synth and started messing around with knobs and filters before getting some modular software and experimenting in what will eventually become his signature sound: a fresh take on Detroit-style techno, acid house and the eerie bleeps of early Warp records.
Last two years have been productive for the Bulgarian producer, lifting him high in the European DJ charts, with remix invites from the the likes of Get Physical, Freerange and Pets Recordings. After his Rachel EP (Ovum, 2010), Kink delivered two brilliant podcast mixes for Resident Advisor (2010) and FACT Mag (2011), paving his way to a larger audience, so we expect him to fly as high in 2012.
