Jazz Club Gajo

As the old saying goes, every decent city needs a nice jazz club. And Jazz Club Gajo sure is nice. Founded by a renowned Slovenian jazz drummer Drago Gajo more than 15 years ago, the club is currently a summer-only open air affair.

It’s situated in a leafy garden next to the opera house and the National Gallery and it’s a very pleasant place to have an afternoon drink, enjoy a Sunday brunch concert or attend an evening show, preferably the popular weekly student jam session. Mind you, they like their jazz pretty straightforward here, so expect a lot of standards and not much radical improvisation or experimenting.
