Co-owner of the cult Slovenian label rx:tx, Borka has been spinning records for more than 10 years. “Started with breaks but now it’s a bit more hectic, usually with a mixture of funk, soul, hip hop, beats, breaks and such.”
A couple of years ago (together with Bakto & Woo-D) he started a funk club night Good Foot with their best known project called Tetkine radosti, a mix collage of old (mostly 60s & 70s) yugoslav music – from beat music and funk rock to jazz and schlager.
He also used to promote different nights for Ljubljana’s club K4 featuring the likes of Bonobo, Quantic, Krush, Danny Breaks, Marky, Dorian Concept, Dj Format, Fulgeance, Dj Food and many more. Borka also creates his own music, “mainly sample-based and slowish”. He has produced some stuff for some rappers, film, stop motion animations and theatre. His band called Jimmy Barka Experience consists of two deejays (Bakto and himself) and a drummer.
About his Bturn mix Borka says:
“This podcast is roughly divided in two parts – first part is longer and it’s a mix of new production that I dig, mostly beats stuff. Second is made of few dope old tracks put together for no apparent reason.”
Bring it on, B.
